Анотація

Стаття присвячена аналізу місця та ролі санкцій як інструменту зовнішньої політики Великобританії. Прослідковується еволюція санкційної політики країни у біполярну та постбіполярну добу. При цьому відзначається, що політика застосування санкцій Великобританією зазнає концептуальної трансформації від принципу односторонності (етап «холодної війни») до багатосторонності в контексті системної еволюції міжнародних відносин. До того ж, як відзначається, криза у Перській затоці у 1990-1991 pp. призвела до розробки стратегії цільових («розумних») санкцій.
